Honda Power Pack Energy India

Honda has recently introduced the Activa e: in India, an electric scooter equipped with swappable batteries. To address concerns about waiting times and range anxiety, Honda plans to establish a network of battery swapping stations across the country in a phased manner.

Phase 1: Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi

The initial phase will focus on three major cities: Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi. Bengaluru will be the first to witness the deployment of battery swapping stations, with 250 stations scheduled to be operational by February 2025. Subsequently, Mumbai and New Delhi will follow suit in April 2025, with 100 and 150 stations, respectively.

Partnerships for Battery Swapping

Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited (HEID), a subsidiary of Honda, has forged partnerships with Hindustan Petroleum, Bangalore Metro, Delhi Metro, Adani Electricity in Mumbai, and various Honda dealerships to facilitate the setup of battery swapping stations for both two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
