Honda has officially launched its first electric scooter in India, the Activa e:. This eco-friendly two-wheeler is powered by a pair of removable 1.5 kWh Honda Mobile Power Pack e: batteries, offering a claimed range of 102 kilometers on a full charge. These batteries can be conveniently swapped at Honda’s battery-swapping stations, which are currently operational in Bengaluru and Delhi, with Mumbai stations coming soon.
The Activa e: is equipped with a powerful 6 kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that delivers a peak torque of 22 Nm. It offers three riding modes – Econ, Standard, and Sport – catering to different riding preferences. The Sport mode enables a top speed of 80 kmph and a 0-60 kmph acceleration time of 7.3 seconds.
In terms of features, the Activa e: boasts a large 7-inch TFT touchscreen display that offers a range of connectivity features through the Honda RoadSync Duo app. The display supports navigation and can be controlled via handlebar-mounted toggle switches. It also features day and night modes. The scooter comes with Honda’s H-Smart key system, which includes Smart Find, Smart Safe, Smart Unlock, and Smart Start functions.
The Activa e: rides on 12-inch alloy wheels, suspended by telescopic front forks and dual rear springs. Braking duties are handled by a combination of disc and drum brakes. The scooter is available in five attractive colors: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.
