GAC Aion has recently introduced the Hyper HT SUV, expanding its 'Hyper' range of electric vehicles (EVs) that includes the Hyper GT and the Hyper SSR. Just a week after images of this intriguing EV emerged online, the company has officially launched the Hyper HT. Electrifying Performance: The entry-level version of the Hyper HT is based on a 400-volt architecture. While the exact battery pack size remains undisclosed, this model boasts an electric motor at the rear axle, producing 241 horsepower (180 kW) and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque. Though these figures may not be groundbreaking, they offer the SUV a respectable 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) acceleration time of 6.8 seconds. Additionally, GAC Aion claims that this version can cover 373 miles (600 km) on the Chinese test cycle and extend its range by 87 miles (140 km) with just a 10-minute charge.

Advanced Versions with 800-Volt System: The Hyper HT lineup includes three other versions, all equipped with a more advanced 800-volt system. These models feature an identical 335 horsepower (250 kW) and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) electric motor, reducing the 0 to 100 km/h time to 5.8 seconds. Two of these versions can travel an impressive 416 miles (670 km) on a single charge, offering rapid charging that can add 258 miles (415 km) of range in just 15 minutes. The flagship model further elevates its range to 479 miles (770 km) and provides 280 miles (450 km) of range with a quick 10-minute charge. Notably, this flagship model is equipped with LiDAR sensors, setting it apart from the others in the lineup.

Dimensions and Design: Data released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology indicates that the Hyper HT measures 4,935 mm (194.2 inches) in length, 1,920 mm (75.5 inches) in width, and 1,700 mm (66.9 inches) in height, with a 2,935 mm (115.5-inch) wheelbase. The exterior design is characterized by subtle elements, including simple headlights, small air curtains, and a sleek lower grille with subtle creases. However, the design highlight of the Hyper HT lies in its gullwing doors in the second row, reminiscent of the Tesla Model X.

A Futuristic Interior: The cabin of the Hyper HT boasts a stylish flat-bottom steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a large central infotainment display. Two wireless charging pads and a floating center console with ample storage space underneath add to the convenience. Rear passengers can enjoy a reclining seat with a deployable footrest, while the front passenger seat can fold flat, creating a spacious area for rear passengers.
