Chevrolet Blazer EV named MotorTrend's 2024 SUV of the Year
Chevrolet Blazer EV: A standout in electric SUVs, it's MotorTrend's 2024 SUV of the Year, marking a significant achievement.
In the heart of Detroit, the all-new Chevrolet Blazer EV emerged victorious among a field of 40 formidable competitors, securing MotorTrend's highly coveted "Golden Calipers" award for the 2024 SUV of the Year. MotorTrend's decision to bestow this honor upon the Blazer EV comes as no surprise, as the vehicle's cutting-edge technology, dynamic design, and groundbreaking powertrain choices have set new standards in the industry. The Blazer EV marks another significant milestone in Chevrolet's commitment to delivering innovative electric vehicles, a journey that began with the Chevrolet Bolt EV, named MotorTrend's Car of the Year in 2017.
Ed Loh, Head of Editorial for MotorTrend Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the Blazer EV, saying, "Chevrolet has truly nailed the design and functionality with the Blazer EV, which looks and operates just as an industry-leading all-electric SUV should. The Chevy Blazer EV offers an effortless driving experience, seamlessly integrates into your lifestyle and boasts user friendliness that's hard to match."
The title "SUV of the Year" is a prestigious accolade that MotorTrend has reserved for vehicles exhibiting the highest standards of product excellence over the past 25 years. Evaluation criteria encompassed six key aspects, including safety, design innovation, and the vehicle's ability to perform its intended function. The Blazer EV's reputation as the complete package resonated with MotorTrend's discerning panel of judges.
Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet, expressed his excitement and gratitude for this recognition, saying, "We are excited and honored to receive this recognition for the Blazer EV. This vehicle takes convenience and customer choice to the next level, a major step in delivering on Chevrolet's promise to provide an EV for everyone."
The Chevrolet Blazer EV is available in multiple trims, including LT, RS, and the groundbreaking electric SS. Among its standout features is a spacious 17.7-inch-diagonal customizable infotainment touchscreen. It offers a range of front-, rear-, and all-wheel-drive configurations, and it recently received EPA certification for an impressive 324 miles on a full charge when equipped with rear-wheel drive.
Customers interested in purchasing a Blazer EV are encouraged to contact their local Chevrolet EV dealer. The initial launch edition, the Blazer EV RS AWD, is currently available at a starting price of $60,215, excluding applicable federal tax credits. Pricing for the remaining Blazer EV trims and drivetrains, including front-wheel-drive variants of the RS and LT, will be announced closer to their 2024 launch dates. Customer orders for these additional trims will be accepted nearer to their respective launch dates.
