Australia gets the 2024 Nissan Qashqai with e-Power Hybrid update

Nissan
Nissan's e-Power hybrid is an exclusive option for the flagship Qashqai Ti, starting at a price of AU$51,590.
Nissan is set to broaden its Qashqai family in Australia, announcing the arrival of a new variant featuring the brand's innovative e-Power technology in the first quarter of 2024. While the standard 2024 Qashqai continues with the 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 110 kW (147 hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, the flagship Qashqai Ti will now offer the intriguing e-Power hybrid powertrain. The Ti e-Power starts at AU$51,590 ($32,531), representing a $4,560 ($2,875) premium over the standard Qashqai Ti.
E-Power Hybrid System: Balancing Power and Efficiency: The e-Power hybrid system incorporates a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 116 kW (156 hp). It is complemented by a power generator, an inverter, and a 140 kW (188 hp) electric motor. Distinguishing itself with advanced variable compression technology, initially introduced by Infiniti in 2018, this system allows real-time adjustment of the compression ratio to optimize performance and fuel economy.

Unique One-Pedal Driving Mode: E-Pedal Step: Setting itself apart from typical hybrid setups, the Nissan Qashqai Ti e-Power introduces the innovative e-Pedal Step, an almost one-pedal driving mode. With a simple button press, this mode activates regenerative braking forces of up to 0.2g. While it can smoothly bring the SUV to lower speeds, it does not bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
Reservations Open on November 2: Nissan Australia is gearing up to commence online reservations for the Qashqai Ti e-Power on November 2. This expansion of e-Power technology to the Qashqai lineup echoes the success of the X-Trail e-POWER and is set to provide Australian drivers with a seamless and exciting driving experience without the need for frequent recharging.

A Statement from Nissan Australia: Nissan Australia's Managing Director, Adam Paterson, shared his enthusiasm, saying, "We know Australians love the driving dynamics of the X-Trail e-POWER, and we are thrilled to offer this innovative technology on a second model, expanding its potential further. Whether you're in the city, further afield, or travel frequently between both, the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER provides a smooth, exciting drive without ever having to stop to recharge.
