Audi recently unveiled a striking new concept vehicle on their Facebook page, the Q6 e-tron Offroad. This bold concept showcases the German automaker’s vision for a high-performance, all-electric off-roader.
The Q6 e-tron Offroad appears to be heavily based on the existing Q6 Sportback e-tron, but with significant modifications for enhanced off-road capability. Distinctive design elements include slim headlights, unique running lights, and quad-LED lights, likely intended to emphasize its rugged character. The most prominent changes are the dramatically widened wheel arches, housing large off-road tires on dark alloy wheels, and a substantially increased ground clearance.
While details are scarce, Audi confirmed that the concept features all-wheel drive and innovative “newly developed” portal axles, crucial components for serious off-road performance. The company emphasizes that this is a concept vehicle with no immediate production plans. However, given the growing popularity of rugged electric vehicles, the possibility of a production version cannot be entirely ruled out.

An intriguing possibility is that the Q6 e-tron Offroad could serve as the basis for a competitive entry in the Dakar Rally and other rally-raid events. The recent shift in regulations, requiring entries to be based on production vehicles, makes this a viable avenue for Audi. However, the demands of long-distance off-road racing present unique challenges for an all-electric vehicle, making such an endeavor even more intriguing.

The standard Q6 Sportback e-tron boasts a powerful dual-motor setup with 383 horsepower, enabling a 0-60 mph sprint in 5.9 seconds and a range of up to 395 miles on a single charge. Considering the concept’s extreme off-road focus, it’s possible that it may utilize the more potent 510 horsepower SQ6 Sportback e-tron drivetrain, offering even greater performance.
Audi is expected to release further details, including technical specifications, in the near future. We will continue to update this story with the latest information.
