Ather Energy has officially announced the launch of updated versions of its popular electric scooters, the 450X and 450S, on January 4th. Given the recent updates to both models, these are expected to be minor revisions rather than significant overhauls.
While core components like the battery, motor, chassis, and overall design are likely to remain unchanged, Ather could introduce new features and software enhancements. A social media post by co-founder Tarun Mehta hinted at the possibility of traction control being added to the 450 series, similar to the feature seen in the Rizta. Additionally, the 450 models may receive Ather’s “Magic Twist” active regenerative braking system, currently available on the Apex and Rizta.
New color options are also anticipated for both scooters. With these updates, Ather aims to further enhance the riding experience and maintain its position as a leader in the premium electric scooter segment. A slight price increase of around Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000 is expected for both the 450X and 450S.
