Suzuki Unveils Intriguing Car Concepts at Japan Mobility Show 2023

The 2023 Japan Motor Show is currently underway, and it's a platform for automakers to reveal their intriguing concepts and innovations. Among the standout participants, Suzuki has taken the spotlight. The Japanese manufacturer has presented a first look at its upcoming models, including a new iteration of a beloved hatchback and an evolved electric SUV concept, among others.
Next-Gen
One of the highlights, particularly relevant for India, is the new Swift concept. This preview of the next-gen model, expected to arrive in India in 2024, showcases a fresh yet familiar exterior design, updated interiors, and several Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features. Additionally, the hatchback now boasts an upgraded petrol engine, signaling improved performance and efficiency.
Evolved Suzuki eVX Concept
Originally introduced at the Auto Expo, the eVX electric SUV concept returns in a refined form at the Tokyo show. The updated version boasts a new exterior design with modern design touches. For the first time, Suzuki offers a glimpse of the interior, adding another layer of intrigue to this eco-friendly vehicle.
Suzuki eWX Concept
Accompanying the eVX, Suzuki reveals the eWX concept, a four-door compact electric vehicle slightly larger than the MG Comet EV. The eWX stands out with its upright styling, quirky design elements, an upscale cabin featuring dual integrated screens, and a vibrant fluorescent paint scheme. While exact technical specifications are not disclosed, Suzuki claims an impressive range of 230 kilometers for the eWX.

Designed exclusively for the Japanese market, the Suzuki Spacia concept is a four-seater small Kei car. Wagon R CBG
In India, Maruti Suzuki currently offers the Wagon R CNG for those seeking economical fuel options. However, at the Japan Motor Show, Suzuki introduced the Wagon R CBG (compressed biogas), a cleaner and more environmentally friendly alternative to CNG. This initiative aligns with Suzuki's commitment to sustainable and eco-conscious transportation solutions.
