Suzuki Unveils Facelifted Solio and Solio Bandit in Japan

Suzuki Solio Bandit

Suzuki has introduced refreshed versions of its popular Solio and Solio Bandit minivans in the Japanese market. While the updates are evolutionary, the Solio Bandit, in particular, showcases a bolder design language, drawing inspiration from various Japanese automakers, including Lexus, Toyota, and Mitsubishi.

Design Evolution: Bold Moves for the Bandit

The 2025 models feature a redesigned front fascia, while the side and rear profiles largely retain their familiar shapes. The Solio Bandit stands out with a prominent grille reminiscent of the larger Toyota Alphard and Vellfire, while the grille pattern evokes a distinct Lexus-like feel. Vertical chrome accents flanking the grille echo Mitsubishi’s signature “Dynamic Shield” design. The standard Solio receives a more subtle refresh with added chrome bars on the grille, creating a cleaner look.

Interior Upgrades and Enhanced Safety

Interior enhancements include the addition of an electric parking brake and the integration of Suzuki Connect features into the infotainment system. Safety has been further bolstered with the inclusion of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring.

Powertrain and Drivetrain

Both models continue to utilize a familiar powertrain: a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine paired with a mild-hybrid system, delivering 82 horsepower and 80 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain, shared with the Suzuki Swift, is mated to a CVT transmission. Buyers can choose between 2WD and 4WD configurations.
