Subaru Unleashes the WRX S210: A Track-Inspired Special Edition

Subaru WRX S210

Subaru has dropped a bombshell at the Tokyo Auto Salon with the unveiling of the WRX S210, a limited-edition masterpiece billed as the pinnacle of STI-tuned complete cars. Built on the foundation of the WRX S4 STI Sport R EX, the S210 draws inspiration from the ferocious WRX NBR Challenge race car, boasting significant performance, chassis, and styling enhancements.

A Powerhouse Under the Hood

The S210’s heart beats faster with a 296 hp turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine, a 25 hp leap over the standard WRX. This surge in power is attributed to a revised intake system, a pre-turbo duct, a free-flowing exhaust, and optimized engine control. While torque remains at 375 Nm, it delivers a more linear and responsive power delivery.

Sharpened Handling and Enhanced Braking

The S210’s chassis undergoes a significant transformation with retuned ZF dampers, revised springs, and upgraded rear stabilizer bushes. Stopping power is amplified by drilled and ventilated rotors on all four corners, high-performance brake pads, and Brembo six-piston calipers at the front.

Track-Ready Aesthetics

Complementing the performance enhancements is a striking visual package. The S210 rides on 19-inch BBS forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires, and features a prominent aero kit comprising a massive dry carbon rear wing, a front splitter, side skirts, and a pronounced rear diffuser, all finished in Crystal Black Silica. A bold Cherry Red stripe accentuates the grille, while S210 badges and STI emblems proudly proclaim its exclusivity.

A Cockpit Fit for Champions

Inside, the S210 boasts motorsport-inspired Recaro seats with carbon backrests, Nappa leather upholstery, and eight-way power adjustments. A black and red color scheme, along with STI emblems and an S210 serial number plate, underscore the car’s limited-edition status.

Limited Availability, Unanswered Questions

Only 500 examples of the Subaru WRX S210 will be produced, and details regarding its availability will be announced in spring 2025. Whether this track-focused special edition will remain exclusive to the Japanese market or be offered in select global markets remains to be seen.
