Skoda Slavia to Get a Design and Feature Update

Skoda Slavia

Skoda is gearing up to introduce a refreshed version of the Slavia sedan, following the mid-life update of the Kushaq SUV. While the changes are expected to be primarily cosmetic and feature-based, a significant addition will be a new automatic gearbox for the 1.5-litre engine.

Design and Features:

The updated Slavia is likely to adopt a design language inspired by Skoda’s latest models, such as the Superb and Octavia. This could include revised front and rear bumpers, new headlights, and updated taillights. Inside the cabin, expect to see new interior trims, color schemes, and a 360-degree camera system. Additionally, Skoda may enhance the connected car features to provide a more modern and convenient driving experience.

Powertrain and Transmission:

The current engine options, a 1.0-liter TSI and a 1.5-liter TSI, are expected to be retained. However, the 1.5-liter TSI engine will likely be paired with a new automatic transmission, offering smoother and more efficient gear shifts.

Market Positioning:

While the Slavia is a popular sedan, Skoda has prioritized the mid-life update for the Kushaq due to its higher sales volume and competition in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. The Slavia, although successful, occupies a smaller market segment compared to the Kushaq. Despite this, the upcoming update will further enhance the Slavia’s appeal and competitiveness.

Launched in March 2022, the Slavia is an important model for Skoda’s India 2.0 strategy. It offers a compelling package with a choice of two engines, two transmissions, and multiple styling packs, including the exclusive Monte Carlo variant.
