Renault India Confirms Updates for Kiger and Triber, New SUV in 2026

Renault India

Renault India has announced a significant product offensive for the Indian market, with plans to introduce several new models and updates to existing ones. The brand currently relies on three key models: the Kwid hatchback, the Kiger sub-compact SUV, and the Triber MPV, all of which are due for a refresh.

To address this, Renault has confirmed that the next-generation Kiger and Triber are scheduled for launch in the second half of 2025. These updates are expected to bring substantial improvements, including refreshed styling, enhanced features, and potentially upgraded powertrains.

The highly anticipated return of the Duster nameplate, initially expected this year, has been pushed back to 2026. This delay will allow Renault to focus on the upcoming Kiger and Triber updates.

The upcoming Triber MPV is expected to retain its versatile seven-seater configuration while incorporating a host of cosmetic and feature upgrades. Expect to see enhancements in the infotainment system, a potential addition of wireless charging, and an increased emphasis on safety with the inclusion of more airbags.

The Kiger sub-compact SUV, currently priced from ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom), is also set for a significant refresh. Visual changes are anticipated, including a revised grille, new lighting elements, and redesigned alloy wheels. On the inside, the focus will likely be on enhancing safety with the potential inclusion of six airbags as standard. While official details are awaited, it is expected to retain its current engine options: a 1-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1-liter turbocharged petrol engine, paired with both manual and automatic transmissions.

The Return of Renaul (and Perhaps Bigster):

Renault has confirmed the arrival of an all-new SUV in 2026, fueling speculation about the highly anticipated return of the Duster. However, the possibility of launching the larger 7-seater Bigster SUV first cannot be ruled out.

This strategic product roadmap signals Renault India’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the Indian market with a focus on refreshed existing models and the introduction of exciting new SUVs.
