Changan, a prominent Chinese automaker, has launched the 4th generation CS75 Plus crossover in the Chinese market. This new model is positioned as a family-friendly ICE vehicle and is priced competitively at 121,900 yuan (17,750 USD).
The CS75 Plus has been a consistent top-seller in China, with over 130,000 units sold from January to August 2024. To maintain its popularity, Changan has introduced significant updates in the 4th generation model.
Design Enhancements
The 4th generation CS75 Plus adopts a fresh design language, featuring large headlights, a trapeze-shaped grille in a body-colored finish, and a prominent air intake in the front bumper. Other notable design elements include retractable door handles, a flat roofline, and an LED taillight strip at the rear.
The new styling brings the CS75 Plus closer to Changan’s Uni series models (Uni-K, Uni-T, Uni-Z), but it retains its distinct identity as a more mature offering within the CS line. The crossover rides on R19 wheels and boasts dimensions of 4770/1910/1695 mm with a wheelbase of 2800 mm.
Interior Refinements
Inside, the 4th generation CS75 Plus features a minimalist design with a focus on technology. The physical buttons have been replaced by a large cluster of three screens: a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, a 14.6-inch main screen, and a 12.3-inch front passenger screen. This setup is reminiscent of the MBUX Hyperscreen found in Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
The gear shifter is positioned behind the two-spoke steering wheel, further emphasizing the Mercedes-inspired design elements. Other notable interior features include two wireless phone charging pads and a zero-gravity front passenger seat with electrically adjustable leg support. The CS75 Plus also supports L2 driving assistance systems like autonomous parking and adaptive cruise control.
Powertrain Options
The 4th generation CS75 Plus is currently available with a 1.5-liter engine that produces 141 kW (189 hp) and 310 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with a torque converter. Changan plans to introduce a 2-liter ICE option for the CS75 Plus in December 2024.
Pricing and Availability
The 4th generation Changan CS75 Plus is offered in two trim levels within a price range of 121,900 to 129,900 yuan (17,350 to 18,500 USD). This competitive pricing positions the CS75 Plus as an affordable family-friendly crossover in the Chinese market.
