Several leading automakers in India, including Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, and JSW MG Motor, have announced plans to increase vehicle prices from January 2025. This move is aimed at offsetting the impact of rising input costs and operational expenses.
Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, will implement a price hike of up to 4% across its model range. The company stated that while it strives to optimize costs, a portion of the increased costs will need to be passed on to consumers.
Mahindra & Mahindra will also be increasing prices of its SUV and commercial vehicle models by up to 3%. The automaker cited rising inflation and increased commodity prices as the primary reasons for the price hike.
JSW MG Motor India joined the list of automakers announcing price hikes. The company will increase prices of its entire model range by up to 3% from January 2025. The company attributed the price hike to continuously rising input costs and other external factors.
Hyundai Motor India had previously announced a price hike of up to Rs 25,000 for its model range from January 2025.
Several luxury automakers, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, have also announced price hikes for their vehicles, effective from next month.
