Kia is gearing up to end 2024 with a bang, as it prepares to unveil its new compact SUV, the Syros, in India on December 19th. This highly anticipated vehicle will slot between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia’s SUV lineup. While the exact pricing details will be revealed at the launch, it’s expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 14 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
The Syros has been spotted and teased multiple times, revealing key design elements inspired by the EV9. It features a boxy design with vertically stacked LED headlights and DRLs, L-shaped LED taillights, flush-fitting door handles, blacked-out C-pillars, and roof rails.
Inside, the Syros is expected to offer a spacious cabin with a dual-tone interior and a dual-screen setup for the infotainment and instrument cluster. It will also be equipped with a range of advanced features, including ADAS, front parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera.
Powertrain options for the Syros will include both ICE and EV variants. The initial launch will focus on the ICE models, powered by either a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine. The EV version is slated for a 2025 launch, with more details expected to be revealed closer to its release.
Once launched, the Kia Syros will directly compete with popular models like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Skoda Kylaq, Maruti Fronx, and Mahindra XUV300.
