Kia India has officially opened bookings for its highly anticipated new compact SUV, the Syros. Customers can now reserve their spot by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000 either online or at authorized Kia dealerships. The official launch is scheduled for February 1st, with deliveries expected to commence shortly thereafter.
The Syros boasts a bold and distinctive design language, drawing inspiration from Kia’s larger models like the Carnival, EV3, and EV9. Key exterior highlights include vertically stacked LED headlamps with three projector units, a unique drop-down LED DRL, and a sealed upper grille reminiscent of an electric vehicle. The side profile features a clean window line, flush-fitting door handles, and 17-inch alloy wheels, while the rear showcases a unique design with high-mounted L-shaped tail lamps.
The Syros offers generous interior space with a spacious cabin and a substantial 465-liter boot. Key interior features include a 30-inch curved display incorporating a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a wireless charging pad, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Advanced connectivity features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, OTA updates, connected car technology, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.
Safety is a priority with the Syros, featuring six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control.
The Syros will be available with two engine options: a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol producing 120hp and a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel generating 115hp. Both engines will be offered with manual and automatic transmission options.
Positioned between Rs 9.70 lakh and Rs 16.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Syros is expected to compete fiercely with established players like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Brezza.
