Kia India is set to launch the highly anticipated 2024 Kia Carnival in India. The company has announced that pre-launch bookings for the premium MPV will commence on September 16, 2024. Customers can secure their bookings with a minimum amount of Rs 2 lakh.
A Luxurious Upgrade
The 2024 Kia Carnival promises to be a luxurious and feature-packed vehicle. It boasts a refreshed exterior design, adopting a more aggressive look similar to its international siblings like the Sorento. The MPV will come equipped with LED headlights, DRLs, and taillights, along with new alloy wheels.
Interior Comfort and Technology
Inside, the Carnival offers a premium cabin experience with features like a dual sunroof, power-sliding rear doors, a head-up display, and a digital rear-view mirror. Additionally, it will feature front and rear dash cams, an updated digital key with fingerprint recognition, and ambient lighting.
For rear passengers, the Carnival provides powered relaxation seats with ventilation and leg support. The MPV also boasts a state-of-the-art 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, a 12.3-inch CCNC infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster.
Advanced Safety Features
The 2024 Kia Carnival comes equipped with an ADAS suite, offering a range of autonomous driving aids. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring.
Powerful Performance
Under the hood, the Carnival will be powered by a reliable 2.2-liter diesel engine that has been proven in its predecessor. This engine delivers 191 bhp and 441 Nm of torque, paired with an automatic transmission. Internationally, the Carnival is also available with a 1.6-liter turbo petrol hybrid and a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine.
Pricing and Competition
While the exact pricing for the 2024 Kia Carnival in India hasn’t been revealed, it is expected to be significantly higher than its predecessor. The previous-generation model was priced between Rs 24.95 lakh and Rs 33.95 lakh. The higher pricing is attributed to the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route through which Kia plans to initially introduce the Carnival. However, local production could potentially lower the price in the future.
In terms of competition, the Carnival faces indirect rivalry from the Toyota Innova Hycross and the more luxurious Toyota Vellfire. The Innova Hycross is priced between Rs 18.92 lakh and Rs 30.98 lakh, while the Vellfire starts at Rs 1.22 crore.
Anticipated Success
Given the success of the previous-generation Carnival in India, the 2024 model is expected to continue its popularity. With its enhanced features, luxurious interior, and advanced technology, the Carnival is poised to attract premium MPV buyers in the Indian market.
