Hyundai has announced another price increase for its Verna midsize sedan, joining a growing list of the automaker’s models, including the Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, and Aura, that have recently become more expensive. This latest hike adds ₹7,000 to the price of all Verna variants, bringing the starting price to ₹11.07 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-end Verna variant now reaches ₹17.55 lakh (ex-showroom).
This isn’t the first price adjustment for Hyundai this year. Like many other automakers, Hyundai India implemented price increases across its model range in January, citing rising raw material costs and inflation. Those increases, which took effect on January 1st, ranged up to ₹25,000 depending on the model, and were attributed to increased input costs, unfavorable exchange rates, and higher logistics expenses. Further price adjustments were announced by several manufacturers in February 2025.

The sedan segment in India has faced significant challenges in recent years, with sales declining due to the increasing popularity of SUVs and MPVs. This has led several automakers to discontinue sedan offerings in the Indian market. Hyundai, however, remains committed to the segment, currently offering the Verna midsize sedan and the Aura sub-compact sedan.
The Hyundai Verna offers a choice of two 1.5-litre petrol engines: a naturally aspirated version and a turbocharged variant. Transmission options include a six-speed manual, a CVT, and a seven-speed DCT automatic. The Verna is available in ten exterior colors and seven different trim levels.
