Ford Issues Four Recalls Affecting Nearly 400,000 Vehicles

Ford

Ford Motor Company has issued four separate recalls this week, impacting a total of 394,466 vehicles across its Ford and Lincoln brands. These recalls address various safety concerns, including potential fuel pump failures in diesel Super Duty trucks, faulty window systems in the Lincoln Nautilus, malfunctioning rearview cameras in certain models, and potential battery issues in the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair.

Diesel Super Duty Trucks Recalled

The largest recall involves 295,449 diesel-powered Super Duty trucks from the 2020-2022 model years. Biodiesel deposits can accumulate on the high-pressure fuel pump’s drivetrain roller components, potentially leading to pump failure. Ford will address this issue by updating the powertrain control module software at no cost to owners.

Lincoln Nautilus Window Recall

47,818 units of the 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus are being recalled due to a potential malfunction in the automatic window reversal system. The system may fail to stop the window when it encounters an obstruction, posing a risk of injury. Dealerships will recalibrate the door modules to rectify this issue.

Rearview Camera Issues

30,715 units of the 2019 Ford Flex, Fiesta, and Lincoln MKT may experience issues with their rearview cameras, displaying blank or distorted images. A solution is currently being developed by Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Battery Concerns in Escape and Corsair

20,484 units of the 2020-2024 Ford Escape and 2021-2024 Lincoln Corsair are subject to a recall due to a potential manufacturing defect in their high-voltage battery cells. This defect could lead to an internal short circuit and subsequent battery failure. Ford will address this issue through software updates and, in some cases, battery pack replacements at no cost to owners.

Ford will notify affected owners by mail and instruct them on scheduling necessary repairs at their local dealerships.
