BMW X5 Dark Flame Edition for China

BMW X5 Dark Flame Edition

BMW has introduced a special edition of the X5 specifically for the Chinese market, dubbed the Dark Flame Limited Edition. This exclusive model builds upon the facelifted, long-wheelbase X5 Li, adding a unique dark aesthetic and premium features.

The Dark Flame edition features a striking Sapphire Blue exterior with contrasting Titan Gold accents. These gold accents are found on the illuminated kidney grille, front bumper intakes, side gills, window surrounds, and even the tailgate badging. The SUV rides on 22-inch black alloy wheels with M-branded brake calipers, while smoked black taillights, Dark Flame puddle lights, and dark exhaust tips complete the exterior look.

Inside, the Dark Flame edition boasts a luxurious interior with black Sensafin premium soft synthetic leather upholstery, a dark grey Alcantara headliner, and gold contrasting stitching. Carbon fiber inserts on the dashboard and center console add a sporty touch. The standard panoramic sunroof with a “starry sky” effect further enhances the premium cabin ambiance.

The feature list is extensive, including a four-zone climate control system, heated and ventilated seats, a curved digital cockpit, and a Harman Kardon audio system. The Dark Flame logo can be found on various interior elements, such as the cup holder, front seatbacks, and illuminated side sills.

Under the hood, the Dark Flame edition is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, producing 375 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The adaptive dual-axle air suspension, M Sport exhaust, and M Sport brakes are standard features.

The BMW X5 xDrive40 Li Exclusive Dark Flame Edition is priced at 830,000 yuan (approximately $116,500) in China and is limited to just 1,000 units. This makes it more expensive than the standard M Sport Package and Night Edition trims, but it offers a unique and exclusive package for discerning Chinese consumers.
