Aston Martin has finally unveiled the highly anticipated Vantage Roadster, a drop-top masterpiece that seamlessly blends iconic British design with exhilarating performance. Building upon the success of the Coupe, the new Roadster boasts a significant power upgrade, rivaling even the formidable DB12 Volante.
At the heart of this open-top marvel lies Aston Martin’s latest 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Unleashing an impressive 656 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, this powerhouse delivers a substantial 153 horsepower and 85 lb-ft torque boost over its predecessor. This remarkable surge in power is attributed to larger turbochargers, meticulously revised camshaft profiles, and optimized compression ratios.

While convertibles typically carry a weight penalty, Aston Martin has meticulously engineered the Roadster to minimize this impact. Adding only 132 pounds to the Coupe’s weight, the Roadster maintains a finely balanced 49:51 front-to-rear weight distribution. The chassis boasts sophisticated double-wishbone suspension at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, further enhanced by adaptive Bilstein DTX dampers.

Beyond Raw Power
To complement the potent engine, the Vantage Roadster is equipped with high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires and powerful carbon ceramic brakes as standard. For drivers seeking personalized driving experiences, eight distinct traction control settings allow for tailored handling characteristics.

The meticulously engineered folding roof mechanism is a highlight. Employing a Z-folding action, it can be effortlessly opened or closed at speeds up to 31 mph in just 6.8 seconds, a feat Aston Martin claims is the fastest in the industry for a fully automatic deployable roof. For added convenience, the roof can also be operated remotely using the key fob.

Audiophiles will appreciate the standard 11-speaker audio system, further enhanced by an optional Bowers & Wilkins system. However, let’s be honest, the soul-stirring symphony of the V8 engine remains the most captivating soundtrack.

Deliveries Imminent
Aston Martin CEO, Adrian Hallmark, expressed his enthusiasm: “The technical and dynamic prowess of the New Vantage set a new benchmark for sports car performance. The Vantage Roadster embodies this spirit, offering a reinvented open-top experience without compromising refinement or performance. Our engineering and dynamics teams have meticulously crafted a world-class roof-down driving experience that is truly unparalleled.”

Customer deliveries for the Vantage Roadster are expected to commence in the second quarter of this year. Pricing details will be announced by Aston Martin in due course.
