Yamaha has stirred excitement among Indian motorcyclists by showcasing the latest generation MT-09 at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. This display strongly hints at the company’s intention to introduce this powerful streetfighter to the Indian market, positioning it to compete head-on with rivals like the Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple.
The 2025 MT-09 boasts a host of updates, including aggressive new styling, a comprehensive feature list, and an optional automatic transmission. Under the hood lies an 890cc, inline-three-cylinder engine, delivering a potent 117 bhp and 93 Nm of torque. While an automatic Y-AMT variant is available globally, Yamaha has yet to confirm its availability in India.

If launched in India, the MT-09 is expected to command a premium price tag, likely exceeding Rs. 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
