Spy Shots Reveal TVS Apache RR 310 with Winglets and Potential Power Boost

TVS Apache RR 310

TVS is gearing up to release an updated version of its flagship supersport motorcycle, the Apache RR 310. Recently, a test mule was spotted near the brand’s facility, sporting winglets, which suggest that the next iteration of the RR 310 could come with subtle design tweaks. These winglets are likely more ornamental than functional but indicate TVS’s intent to add fresh visual elements to the model. Additionally, there are expectations that the bike will see a bump in power, aligning it with the recently launched Apache RTR 310.

Performance and Engine Updates

Currently, the Apache RR 310 is powered by a 312cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 34 bhp and 27.3 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, offering smooth power delivery and strong performance. However, with this new update, TVS is expected to slightly enhance the power figures to match those of the Apache RTR 310, which produces 35 bhp at 9700 rpm and 28.7 Nm at 6650 rpm from the same 312cc engine. This marginal boost in power could improve the bike’s top-end performance, making it more competitive in its segment.

Design and Feature Updates

Apart from the performance upgrades, the spy shots of the test mule indicate that the updated TVS Apache RR 310 will likely retain a similar design to the current model, with its aggressive stance and aerodynamic fairing. The addition of winglets on the test bike could serve to enhance the sporty appearance of the motorcycle, though their actual impact on aerodynamics remains to be seen.

In terms of features, TVS might introduce minor upgrades to complement the existing package. The USD front forks, monoshock, and front and rear disc brakes are expected to carry over, maintaining the bike’s well-balanced suspension and braking setup.

Pricing and Competition

With the anticipated updates, the TVS Apache RR 310 could see a slight price increase over its current price of Rs 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Even with the price hike, the bike will continue to offer a value proposition in the supersport segment.

In terms of competition, the updated Apache RR 310 will rival the likes of the KTM RC 390, Aprilia RS 457, and Yamaha YZF R3, all of which are popular choices for performance enthusiasts. TVS’s move to refresh the Apache RR 310 will ensure it remains competitive in the evolving market.
