The wait for Royal Enfield’s much-anticipated scrambler is almost over. Recent leaks suggest that the Interceptor 650 is set to be transformed into a road-biased scrambler, tentatively named the Interceptor Bear 650.
A design patent of the upcoming motorcycle has surfaced online, offering a glimpse into its design direction. While the heart of the bike remains unchanged, featuring the familiar 648cc air-oil-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm of torque, the Bear 650 will distinguish itself with a host of scrambler-inspired elements.
Scrambler Transformation
Expect a revised seat, grab rails, and a number badge to adorn the side of the Bear 650, classic scrambler cues that set it apart from its road-going sibling. A wider handlebar and increased suspension travel are also on the cards to enhance off-road capabilities. To complement the scrambler character, dual-sport tires are likely to be standard fitment.
The leaked image also hints at a circular instrument console, which could be either analog or digital depending on the variant. Given the anticipated premium positioning above the Interceptor and Continental GT 650, the Bear 650 is expected to carry a price tag of around ₹3.4 to 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield is likely to unveil the Interceptor Bear 650 during the festive season, with official pricing and launch details expected at the 2024 Royal Enfield Motoverse in Goa.
