Honda has refreshed its popular Shine 125 commuter motorcycle with updated features and a price increase. The base drum brake version now starts at ₹84,493, while the disc brake variant is priced at ₹89,245 (both ex-showroom Delhi), representing a price hike of ₹1242 and ₹1994 respectively.
While the Shine 125 retains its familiar, practical design, it now comes in a wider range of six vibrant colors, complemented by fresh graphics. The most significant change is the refined 123.94 cc engine, now compliant with OBD-2B emissions norms. This engine produces 10.63 bhp and 11 Nm of torque, although it’s worth noting that the same engine in the sporty SP125 has slightly different tuning. The fuel-saving idle stop-start system is also included.
Honda has focused on improving stability with a wider 90mm rear tire. Convenience has also been enhanced with a new fully digital instrument panel that displays real-time mileage, range, gear position, an Eco riding indicator, and a service reminder. A Type-C USB charging port has also been added.
The Shine 125 is already India’s best-selling 125cc motorcycle, and these updates, while not revolutionary, should further solidify its position in the market. Honda clearly expects the Shine 125 to maintain its sales dominance.
