KTM has recently introduced the updated 390 Adventure in India, priced at ₹3.68 lakh (ex-showroom), slotting it as a mid-tier option. While this version sits above the 390 Adventure X, it’s worth noting that a more rugged “R” variant exists globally.
During the launch event, KTM representatives indicated a willingness to bring the 390 Adventure R to the Indian market, contingent on sufficient consumer interest. The company plans to gauge demand through a combination of showroom visits, social media interactions, and online feedback, particularly on platforms like YouTube.
Designed for serious off-road enthusiasts, the 390 Adventure R boasts a higher 870mm seat height, extended suspension travel, and Mitas Enduro Trail tires, enhancing its capability on challenging terrain. The core mechanical components remain largely consistent with the standard 390 Adventure. Should the R variant launch in India, it’s anticipated to carry a price tag between ₹3.9 lakh and ₹4 lakh, reflecting its enhanced features.

KTM acknowledges that the 390 Adventure R would appeal to a niche segment of riders willing to invest in superior off-road performance. While this group may be relatively small initially, the company is optimistic that its size will grow. KTM has expressed that if the demand increases, the 390 Adventure R will be brought to India.
