Kawasaki has unveiled its updated adventure-touring motorcycle, the MY25 Versys 1100, for the Indian market. This new model builds on the Versys platform with enhancements, most notably an upgraded 1,099cc in-line four-cylinder engine. The Versys 1100 will compete with established rivals like the Honda Africa Twin and BMW R1250GS. In a surprising move, Kawasaki has lowered the price of the MY25 Versys 1100 by a lakh compared to its predecessor, signaling their intent to make this motorcycle more accessible.

The heart of the Versys 1100 is a 1099cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, in-line four-cylinder DOHC engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine delivers a maximum power output of 135 Hp and 112 Nm of torque.

The Versys 1100 features an aluminum twin-spar frame designed to position the frame beams just above the engine, contributing to a narrow profile. This slim design, particularly around the fuel tank, is intended to improve rider grip and control, especially when navigating challenging terrain. Suspension is handled by 43mm inverted forks with adjustable rebound damping and spring preload at the front, and a horizontal back-link, gas-charged rear shock with adjustable rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustment at the rear.

The MY25 Versys 1100 comes equipped with several rider-focused features, including an adjustable windshield, a 12V DC socket, and an LCD instrument cluster with a negative display. Available options include traction control with four modes, two power modes, a quick shifter, a cornering management system, and an intelligent anti-lock brake system.

The MY25 Kawasaki Versys 1100 is priced at Rs 12,90,000 (ex-showroom). Deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of February 2025.
