Indian motorcycle manufacturer Jawa Yezdi has unveiled a fresh take on its popular 42 model, introducing the Jawa 42 FJ 350. This new variant boasts a more aggressive design, characterized by a distinctive teardrop-shaped fuel tank prominently displaying the “Jawa” brand.
Priced at ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the 42 FJ 350 is a substantial departure from its predecessor, both in terms of aesthetics and performance. It incorporates the more powerful 334 cc engine from the Jawa 350, delivering a noticeable boost in power and torque.
While the side panels and fenders remain largely unchanged from the standard 42, the seat and handlebar have been redesigned to provide a more focused riding position. The motorcycle also features unique alloy wheels with a machined finish, upswept exhausts, and an offset fuel tank cap, further enhancing its sporty appeal.
In terms of features, the 42 FJ 350 offers a modern riding experience with an LED headlight, a semi-digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, and an assist and slipper clutch.
Under the hood, the 42 FJ 350 is powered by a refined 334 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 22 bhp and 28 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission, ensuring smooth and efficient power delivery. The bike’s suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks with preload adjustability, while braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both ends with dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety.
Bookings for the Jawa 42 FJ 350 are now open, and deliveries are expected to commence shortly. The new model is poised to compete directly with the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Royal Enfield Classic 350, offering a compelling alternative for those seeking a stylish and performance-oriented motorcycle.
