Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is set to expand its BigWing lineup with the highly anticipated return of the middleweight CBR650R and CB650R motorcycles to the Indian market. A recent teaser has confirmed the arrival of these popular models, with an official unveiling likely to take place at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in New Delhi on January 17.
The CBR650R, a fully-faired sportbike, boasts an aggressive design characterized by a twin-headlamp setup and sharp graphics. It offers a sporty riding position while maintaining a degree of comfort. The CB650R, on the other hand, adopts a naked streetfighter style with a round headlamp and a well-sculpted fuel tank, providing a more relaxed riding posture.
Shared Hardware and Powerful Engine:
Both motorcycles share a robust chassis featuring 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston forks in the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 310mm discs upfront and a 240mm disc at the rear, assisted by dual-channel ABS and a switchable traction control system.
Powering both the CBR650R and CB650R is a potent 649cc liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder engine. This engine delivers a thrilling 95 bhp of power and 63 Nm of torque, mated to a smooth-shifting 6-speed manual transmission. An optional E-clutch transmission will also be available for added convenience.
The reintroduction of the CBR650R and CB650R signals Honda’s commitment to expanding its presence in the Indian middleweight motorcycle segment. These motorcycles are expected to appeal to a wide range of riders seeking a blend of performance, style, and practicality.
