Honda Issues Recall for Africa Twin Adventure Tourer

Honda Africa Twin

Honda has recently issued a voluntary recall for specific models of its Africa Twin adventure tourer, aligning with global recall efforts. This recall affects certain units manufactured between February and October 2022.

The root cause of the issue lies in a potential programming glitch within the motorcycle’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU). This glitch can lead to unintended activation of the wheelie control during acceleration, potentially causing loss of balance.

To rectify this problem, Honda will update the ECU software free of charge at authorized BigWing Topline dealerships, regardless of the vehicle’s warranty status. Owners can determine if their motorcycle is affected by entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the official BigWing website.

The current Honda Africa Twin lineup in India consists of two variants: Manual and DCT, priced at Rs. 16 lakh and Rs. 17.55 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
