Hero MotoCorp is set to make a significant splash at the upcoming EICMA 2024 with the unveiling of its highly anticipated new 250cc motorcycle. A recent teaser image has provided a glimpse of the bike’s design, which draws inspiration from the Hero 2.5 Xtunt concept showcased at the previous EICMA.
Design and Features:
The new 250cc motorcycle features an aggressive and modern design language, characterized by sharp lines and angular elements. The front end dominates the design, with an angular headlamp cowl housing an LED headlight and distinctive H-shaped LED DRLs. The muscular fuel tank and sleek side and tail sections contribute to the bike’s sporty and dynamic appearance.
The motorcycle is expected to come equipped with a comprehensive feature set, including all-LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. A TFT display, similar to the one seen on the new Xpulse 210, is likely to be included.
Engine and Performance:
Powering the bike will be a newly developed 250cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. While specific details are yet to be revealed, it is expected to produce around 28-30 horsepower and 24-25 Nm of torque. This performance figures would position it competitively against rivals like the KTM 250 Duke and Husqvarna Vitpilen 250.
Chassis and Suspension:
The motorcycle is likely to be built on a lightweight, yet sturdy chassis. The suspension setup will include a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, ensuring a comfortable and controlled ride. Braking duties will be handled by a single disc brake at both the front and rear.
Launch and Pricing:
The new Hero 250cc motorcycle, expected to be named the Xtreme 250R, is slated to launch in India in early 2025. The pricing is estimated to be in the range of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
With its aggressive design, powerful engine, and advanced features, the new Hero 250cc motorcycle is poised to make a significant impact in the Indian market and challenge the dominance of established players in the segment.
