Get Ready: Aprilia Tuono 457 Launches Today!

Aprilia Tuono 457

Aprilia is set to make a splash in the Indian motorcycle market with the launch of its new Tuono 457. This marks the Italian brand’s first foray into the sub-500cc naked streetfighter segment. Enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating this release since its unveiling at EICMA 2024 and subsequent sightings during test runs on Indian roads. The Tuono 457 is expected to carry a price tag around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Tuono 457 sports an aggressive streetfighter aesthetic, complete with prominent tank extensions and Aprilia’s signature design cues, including the distinctive twin DRLs and an underbelly exhaust. Eye-catching graphics further enhance its visual appeal.

Powering the Tuono 457 is the same 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine found in the RS 457. This engine delivers 47.55PS and 43.5Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. While the engine block remains the same, Aprilia may have tweaked the gearing and sprocket sizes to give the Tuono 457 its own unique riding characteristics.

Built on the same platform as the RS 457, the Tuono 457 shares its chassis and likely many of its components. The suspension setup includes inverted forks and a fully adjustable monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as a standard safety feature.

The Tuono 457 boasts a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling smartphone integration for call and message alerts, as well as turn-by-turn navigation. Rider aids are expected to include multiple riding modes (Eco, Sport, and Rain) along with switchable traction control and ABS. Upon its release, the Aprilia Tuono 457 will compete directly with rivals like the Yamaha MT-03 and the KTM 390 Duke.
