CFMoto, the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, has made a significant entry into the supersport segment with the launch of its new 675SS. This all-new model is positioned as a direct competitor to the Triumph Daytona 660, offering a compelling alternative for riders seeking a high-performance sports bike.
Engine and Performance
The CFMoto 675SS is powered by a 674.2cc, triple-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum output of 95 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and a peak torque of 70 Nm. While these figures are respectable, they fall short of the Triumph Daytona 675, which produced 126 horsepower and 75 Nm. Nonetheless, the 675SS offers a balanced performance that should appeal to a wide range of riders.
Features and Technology
The CFMoto 675SS comes equipped with several modern features, including a unidirectional quickshifter for upshifts, adjustable traction control, and dual-channel ABS. While it lacks ride modes, the bike features a five-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity for added convenience.
The 675SS boasts a sporty and aerodynamic design, with layered fairings and winglets to enhance stability and cornering capabilities. LED lighting is used throughout the bike for improved visibility.
Chassis and Suspension
The 675SS is built on a Chromoly steel tubular frame and features a cast aluminum banana swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable KYB USD forks at the front and a rear monoshock with preload and rebound adjustability. The bike rides on 120/70 R17 front and 180/55 R17 rear tires, providing excellent grip and handling.
India Launch
While the CFMoto 675SS has been launched in the US, there are currently no plans for its introduction in India. Given its competitive pricing and impressive features, the 675SS could have been a strong contender in the Indian market. However, the company’s decision to focus on other segments for the Indian market may limit its availability.
Conclusion
The CFMoto 675SS represents a significant step forward for the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer. With its powerful engine, modern features, and attractive design, it offers a compelling alternative to the Triumph Daytona 660. While it may not be available in India at the moment, it’s worth keeping an eye on CFMoto’s future plans for the Indian market.
