Bajaj Teases New Pulsar Update, Could It Be the RS 200?

Bajaj Pulsar

Bajaj Auto, known for its popular Pulsar motorcycle lineup, has recently released a teaser video on social media, hinting at an upcoming update for one of its models. While the teaser doesn’t explicitly reveal the motorcycle, the distinctive exhaust note strongly suggests it could be the long-awaited refresh for the Pulsar RS 200.

The RS 200, a fully-faired sports bike launched alongside the NS 200 in 2011, has not received a significant update in recent years. This makes it a prime candidate for a refresh, especially considering the recent upgrades to its naked sibling, the NS 200.

Design and Specifications (Expected)

The 2025 Pulsar RS 200 is likely to retain its signature aggressive styling, featuring a sharp fairing with a twin-pod LED headlamp and a windscreen. Other key design elements such as the low clip-on handlebars, split seats, and floating tail section are expected to remain unchanged.

The motorcycle will likely continue to be powered by the same 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 24.13 bhp and 18.74 Nm of torque. This engine is expected to be paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Key Updates

Following the lead of the updated NS 200, the 2025 RS 200 is anticipated to receive several key upgrades. These may include:

  • Digital Instrument Cluster: A fully-digital negative LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling features like call and text alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation through Bajaj’s Ride Connect app.
  • Ride-by-Wire Throttle: The introduction of a ride-by-wire throttle system could potentially offer multiple riding modes for enhanced control and customization.
  • Upgraded Suspension: The most significant upgrade is expected to be the addition of upside-down front forks for improved handling and ride quality. The rear suspension will likely retain the monoshock setup.
  • Enhanced Braking: Disc brakes on both wheels with dual-channel ABS will continue to be standard, ensuring optimal braking performance.
  • New Color Options: Bajaj is likely to introduce fresh color schemes and graphics to give the updated RS 200 a more contemporary look.

While these are just speculations, the teaser video has certainly generated excitement among Pulsar enthusiasts. The potential update to the RS 200 could further strengthen Bajaj’s position in the competitive Indian motorcycle market.
