KTM 390 Adventure X and S

KTM has unveiled its latest additions to the adventure touring segment: the all-new 390 Adventure and the more budget-conscious 390 Adventure X. Bookings for these off-road capable motorcycles have already begun in India, ahead of their official launch. Details of both models are now available on KTM India’s website, and the manufacturer has also confirmed the upcoming 2025 iteration of the 250 Adventure.

Both the 390 Adventure X and the 390 Adventure share the same 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This engine delivers a peak power output of 42.31 HP and 37 Nm of torque. Both bikes also boast an ARAI-claimed mileage of 32.7 kmpl.

The design of the two bikes is largely similar, with subtle differences setting them apart. KTM showcased the 390 Adventure at India Bike Week 2024, and the company has stated that both models draw inspiration from Dakar rally motorcycles. A key design feature is the new dual-projector headlamp setup. Both bikes also feature more aggressive styling, including a beak-style front mudguard. A major difference lies in the wheel sizes: the 390 Adventure X uses a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, while the more off-road oriented 390 Adventure gets a larger 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel configuration.

In terms of features, both bikes are equipped with a 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity. The 390 Adventure comes with three riding modes (Street, Rain, and Off-road), with the Off-road mode offering dedicated ABS functionality. It also includes cornering ABS, cornering traction control, and cruise control. The 390 Adventure X, while still featuring off-road ABS, forgoes cornering ABS, cornering traction control, and cruise control to keep costs down.

With these updates, the prices of the 390 Adventure series have naturally increased. The KTM 390 Adventure starts at ₹3.41 lakh (ex-showroom). Pricing details for the 390 Adventure X are expected to be released closer to its launch.
