Tata Motors has taken a significant step towards strengthening its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the updated Nexon EV. The new model, equipped with a 45kWh battery pack, offers enhanced performance, range, and safety features.
One of the standout features of the Nexon EV is its new 45kWh battery pack. This advanced battery technology, previously seen in the Curvv EV, boasts a class-leading volumetric density of 186wh/lit and 15% higher energy density. The prismatic cell format used in the battery pack is known for its reliability and contributes to improved battery capacity and reduced charging time.
The Nexon EV now delivers a claimed range of 489km on a full charge, surpassing its predecessor’s range of 465km. The real-world range (C75) is estimated to be between 350-370km, ensuring ample driving distance for daily commutes and longer journeys.
In terms of charging, the Nexon EV supports a faster charging rate of 1.2C, allowing it to charge from 10 to 80% in just 40 minutes using a charger greater than 60kW. This rapid charging capability is ideal for those who need to recharge quickly on the go.
While the other performance parameters of the Nexon EV remain largely unchanged, the vehicle now benefits from an IP67 protected propulsion system, which is AIS038 ++ compliant and features continuous telematics scanning for monitoring critical parameters. This ensures enhanced safety and reliability.

For those seeking a more stylish and premium option, Tata Motors has introduced the ‘Red #Dark’ variant, featuring black and red accents at an additional cost of Rs. 20,000.
The Nexon EV 45 is available in four variants: Creative, Fearless, Empowered, and Empowered +. The pricing for each variant is as follows:
- Creative 45: Rs. 13.99 lakh
- Fearless 45: Rs. 14.99 lakh
- Empowered 45: Rs. 15.99 lakh
- Empowered +: Rs. 16.99 lakh
