TVS Motor Company has unveiled its latest engine, the RTXD4 300, at the MotoSoul 2024 event. Developed entirely in-house at the company’s research and development center in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, this new engine is poised to power future TVS motorcycles.
Engine Specifications
The RTXD4 300 is a liquid-cooled, four-valve engine with dual overhead cams. TVS has incorporated several advanced technologies to enhance performance and efficiency, including a plasma-coated cylinder, a dual-oil pump, a split chamber crankcase, a dual cooling jacket cylinder head, and a dual breather system. The engine will also feature throttle-by-wire technology.
In terms of power output, the RTXD4 300 is expected to generate 34.5 horsepower at 9000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. While these figures are slightly lower than the recently updated TVS Apache RR 310, they are still impressive for a single-cylinder engine. The engine will be paired with a six-speed transmission equipped with a slip-and-assist clutch.
Potential Applications
While TVS has not officially announced the specific motorcycle that will utilize the RTXD4 300 engine, strong rumors suggest that it will power an upcoming adventure motorcycle. This new adventure bike is likely to be branded as the RTX, aligning with the engine’s name.
As we eagerly await further details from TVS, it’s clear that the RTXD4 300 engine holds significant potential for the Indian automaker, promising to deliver exciting new motorcycles in the future.
